“El Mudito” is a short story illustrated for a local contest in Cuenca, Ecuador. It is about a man who was well known in the neighborhood as a milk deliverer. He was mute and considered a little eccentric. In his free time, he used to collect little pieces of a blue-colored soap called “Alex Soap”, which was used in most houses at that time. When he died, the neighbors found lots of money mixed with soap hidden under the wooden floor and bottles full of oil in the room that he was renting. Based on a true story.
